With so much to see and do in Providence during the show,
you should plan to SPEND THE WEEKEND!

Things to do after the show

Providence offers plenty of historic sites, world-class shopping venues, outstanding museums, and art galleries to enjoy. Most are within walking distance of the show.

Here are a few suggestions:

Providence is home to the world-renowned Rhode Island School of Design. The school has it own museum, but don't miss the many smaller galleries throughout town as well.

Federal Hill ("Little Italy") offers a plethora of dining experiences. The main drag is Atwells Avenue, which is ideal for finding a great snack, a bracing espresso, or some freshly made pasta to take back home.

Cobble stoned Benefit Street is bursting with great architecture and history. Don't miss the Georgian-style mansion at number 357 (tours by appointment).

Thayer Street on College Hill is the hub of great browsing and buying, with everything from consignment shops and clothing boutiques to antiques, cafes, and stationery, book, and music stores.

Providence Place, which is connected to the Convention Center by skyway, offers an enclosed mall featuring national department stores, a food park, and several other finer dining options.

The Culinary Museum at Johnson & Wales University offers one of the finest collections of kitchenware, appliances, cookbooks, menus, historic showpieces, and diner artifacts in the world.

WaterFire’s one hundred sparkling bonfires, the fragrant scent of aromatic wood smoke, the flickering firelight on the arched bridges and the enchanting music from around the world engage all the senses and emotions of those who stroll the paths of Waterplace Park.

If that’s not enough to keep you busy, here are a couple of other sources to investigate:

Providence Preservation Society
Providence Department of Art, Culture & Tourism
Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau
